More progress pics!!

I have some more progress to show you on both Caroline Baird and the Greek Sampler!
First up is Caroline Baird-- she is so bright and colorful it is a pleasure to work on her :)
I finally finished the last motif on the bottom right hand corner
And now I am working on the verse, starting from the top.  I don't know why I leave the over-one till the end, I should learn right?!!

Next is the Greek Sampler 1828
Half done and looking good!!  The few motifs remaining on the bottom should be a breeze and this sampler will be complete it no time.  I'm excited!  How many samplers do you see with Greek symbols and letters?  I wonder why we don't see more samplers from Greece?  Any thoughts?  They did such great embroidery work, you would think we would see more.
Does anyone have any progress pics to share from the Traveling Stitcher samplers?  I am always excited to see!!!

Greek Sampler 1828

Another great sampler reproduction headed your way!! May I present to all of you Greek Sampler 1828 from the island of Chios, Greece.
The original sampler was stitched in wool on a 26ct linen; unfortunately the name was removed.  How fun to see the bright colors used along with the Greek Alphabet!  Reproduced using Lakeside Linen Vintage Meadow Rue with Gloriana, NPI and a Belle Soie silk, it is a stunning reproduction :)
Its rare to see a sampler from Greece, we see a lot of beautiful embroidery, but this is one to add to the collection!!

Arabella S. Graves 1862

Has made her debut in the Attic Needlework's latest newsletter.  It is an honor to be featured as the August 2013 Sampler of the Month!!  I could be more excited to share her with all of you!!!
Arabella stitched her sampler in 1862 and while we do not know to much information on her, we do know she was a very creative stitcher.  Using several fonts in a beautiful shade of red and giving all of us a run for our money on the alphabet!  The exquisite motifs were chosen with precise colors, which allows us to be excited at present day.
Arabella chose an uneven weave, which was common at that time.
The chart pack includes both DMC and NPI/AVS silk conversion.  Simple to read pattern using all cross stitch (no over one!)  The stitch count is 246 x 245; using an uneven weave linen, you will achieve the same rectangle look.  Choosing a standard linen-any count, she will be more square.  Stunning either way!!  I hope she will give you many hours of pleasurable stitching!!  Thank you for visiting and I look forward to progress pics :)

E Bloeser

Being in a room full of talented stitchers last week, I had the pleasure of viewing many beautiful pieces in progress.   I happened to look over and question, what is she stitching on??!!  It sure did look familiar.  With closer inspection, sure enough, it was E. Bloeser!!
Stitching her on Lakeside Linen Pear along with her color conversion, this sampler is  stunning!  See how fun it is to change it up a bit?  One of the best things about reproducing a pattern is not only fun to see how many stitch her, but how many different versions you end up with!!!
It was a pleasure meeting you and thank you for letting me take this picture and share it with everyone!!  Cant wait to see more :)

Caroline Baird 1843

Very exciting news to tell all of you-- I have a new sampler pattern released for your enjoyment.  May I introduce to you Caroline Baird!
 The verse reads:
Religion
How sweetly on yon tranquil stream
The setting sun imprints his ray;
Which back reflects the saffron beam
And glows when it has passed away.

More sweetly far when death draws nigh
Religion casts her soothing light
Sheds on the spirits opening eye
Her hues immortal pure and bright

I have chosen Lakeside Linen Vintage Autumn Gold along with a beautiful array of hand-dyed silks.  Also included is a DMC conversion and the stitch count is 240 x 230.  I know she will be stunning on a variety of linen colors and I look forward to progress pics!

Have a fantastic Memorial Weekend!!!!!
